Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence)
Two year full time study programme that consists of 9 mandatory units plus optional units that provide
for a combined total of 180 credits.
Programme overview
Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
English & mathematics qualifications for all learners who have not yet achieved A*- C (9-4) grade in either subject
External Work Placement which is planned with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals and ambitions
Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader skills, such as teamwork or communication
Weekly training sessions and game fixtures taken by Crossbar’s experienced coaches.
Weekly strength and conditioning sessions
Educational visits throughout the programme
Who is this course for?
The qualification is aimed to post 16 learners who wish to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the sports industry. The qualification is the equivalent in size to three A Levels and has been designed as a full two year programme.
What could this qualification lead to?
Learners who have completed the qualification in two years may progress to higher education, BTEC carries points which is converted to UCAS points. The overall points recieved for your course, will help outline which route you will take.

PE teacher, Sports Therapy, Sports Coach, Gym Instructor, Sales or Personal, Fitness Training, Sports Psychology, Sports Tuition, Lifeguarding, Leisure Centre Management, Sports Business Management and Outdoor Pursuits
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs (and equivalent) C or above including maths and English or completed level 2 vocational course at Distinction or Subsidiary.

Advanced Sports Coaching Apprenticeship
Crossbar Coaching - Education In Sport offers fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic, talented people to build a career and deliver to schools and local communities.
The successful applicant will be required to:
Assist with the planning and delivery of physical activity sessions
Develop and inspire young people to live and lead active lifestyles
Assist in the production of accurate assessments and reports on children and young people’s progress
Have existing knowledge of the school PE National Curriculum (Desirable)
Successful candidates will assist in the delivery of sport and physical activities to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL, (Out Of School Hours Learning) extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and in school holiday periods 5 days a week including some evenings and weekends.
