At Crossbar we believe that all school leavers and young adults should have the opportunity to progress in Further Education regardless of their educational background or previous learning experiences, as everybody has different interests and different learning preferences.
Our Further Education programmes at Crossbar aim to offer school leavers and young adults an opportunity to better themselves and create their own pathway through academic studies and real life working experiences.
We want all of our learners to be as best prepared for their next steps, whether it be higher education, part or full-time employment or continuing into future programmes with Crossbar.
CROSSBAR COLLEGE OF SPORT
SPORTS COACHING TRAINEESHIPS
The Crossbar Sports Coaching Traineeship is a part time Further Education course that lasts between 12-16 weeks.The course consists of a level 2 qualification in Coaching Sport and Physical Activity, with added workshops such as Employability skills, Customer Service skills alongside Functional skills in English and Mathematics.
Not only does this course provide learners with industry recognised qualifications but the learners will also partake in work experience in Primary Schools across Shropshire with qualified Crossbar Coaches.

SPORTS COACHING FUTURE SKILLS STUDY PROGRAMME
The future skills programme in Sports Coaching is a Further Education Programme undertaken over a full academic year. It offers learners the chance to study level 2 and/or level 3 1st4Sport Coaching Qualifications consisting of Physical Education & School Sport, Multi-skills, Coaching Sport and Physical Activity and even functional skills in English and Maths. The programme will also include additional workshops such as Customer Service and Mental Health Awareness. Each learner will also partake in work experience relating to their chosen interest and ideal career path.
Learners are given the chance to add wok experience to their CV to impress prospective employers. Working alongside experienced educators within primary schools is an opportunity to further your knowledge in the PE & School Sport and Education sectors.
This bespoke collage programme based at the Lilleshall National Sports & Conferencing Centre with state of the art facilities providing students with a unique learning experience. The Crossbar Collage of Sport provides a pathway to our apprenticeship scheme, higher education and employment routes through our government backed kickstart programme.
EMPLOYABILITY & OCCUPATIONAL STUDIES TRAINEESHIP
The Crossbar Employability Traineeship focuses on providing learners with the knowledge and skills required to progess into full or part-time employment, alongside studying an NCFE qualification in Occupational Studies, making the programme bespoke and personal to each learner.
This consists of structuring and writing Curriculum Vitae’s, to learning about the different methods of applying for a job and being prepared for both virtual and face to face interviews. The programme will also include additional workshops such as Customer Service and Mental Health Awareness. Each learner will also partake in work experience relating to their chosen interest and ideal career path.

APPRENTICESHIPS
The Crossbar Coaching Apprenticeship Scheme is a 15 month programme which consists of a full time work placement alongside one of our Crossbar Sports Educators in Primary Schools across Shropshire.
Crossbar Coaching Apprentices will be assisting with the delivery of the Physical Education alongside the National Curriculum to pupils aged 4-11, whilst studying a Level 3 Sports Coaching Qualification.
Additionally, apprentices will have the opportunity to gain extra qualifications through our CPD workshops including emergency first aid training, safeguarding children and mental health awareness.
FREE transport is available when enrolling onto our programmes.
