Jamie Haynes
Jamie started his playing career with Shrewsbury Town FC signing a 2 year scholarship when he left school. He had been with the club since the age of 8 working his way up through the centre of excellence. Jamie was made youth team captain in his 2nd year and made numerous appearance for the reserves but was released by the club at 18 after not been offered a professional contract.
After leaving Shrewsbury Town, Jamie then signed for Colwyn Bay & spent the remainder of the season there, the following season Jamie made the switch to Welsh Premier side Newtown where he spent the best part of a year before being offered a full scholarship to play in the USA. Jamie jumped at the chance & attended Holy Names University in California where he played in the NCAA reaching the final of their conference. After his first year Jamie decided that university wasn't for him & despite loving the chance to be playing full time "soccer" again moved back to the UK to pursue a career in coaching.
Jamie went back into the Welsh Premier League & signed for Caersws where he stayed for 2 seasons before signing for Unibond side Market Drayton Town. Having spent a season at Drayton Jamie then moved to Redditch & then Leek Town before returning to Market Drayton at the start of this season where he is still currently playing.
Jamie's coaching career began during his 2 year scholarship with Shrewsbury Town where he took his FA Level 2 badge. He then worked for a local coaching company working with primary schools across Shropshire. He then went on to get his Community Sports Leaders Award, Futsal Level 1 badge & his FA Youth Module 1 award.
Jamie has been with crossbar since it was set up in 2009, he met Gavin through playing at Shrewsbury Town & was delighted to link back up with him & share what he has learnt through his career with young children as the Head Coach of crossbar. Jamie's is now an FA Level 3 coach in football having passed his final assessment in August 2011.
